Finally an update

Oh my, I have let this blog sit idle for too long. So sorry for that. I'm going to try and get much better at updating here. Hopefully, at least a couple of times a month.

Yes, I was a computer tech again for a while. I have finally worked through my routing issues, and after much searching, putting questions out on multiple forums, and still not getting an answer that worked for me, I came up with my own fix. My modem is a Qwest modem and router in one. Then I also have a Linksys router. I know that the issue I was having was that the router and modem/router were conflicting, but I just couldn't get the modem to act just as a modem and not a router. So I bought a $30.00 extension for my Qwest modem/router and made it a wireless modem/router and then I turned the wireless option off on my Linksys router turning that essentianally into a hub. And it has worked great since then. The only 'issue' that comes up from time to time is that when we run the microwave, sometimes I get kicked off line for a second or two. A bit annoying, but I know it's not the same problem, because the laptop always logs itself back in. And I know that with wireless routers, wireless phones, microwaves and other 'radio' things can cause interference. And since usually when the microwave is being used, I'm the one using it, so I'm not at my laptop anyway. :) So after many months of frustion and prayer, I am glad to say our router problems are fixed. Now all I have to do is add the Nintendo Wii back on our router and see how that works. :)

Watered Garden Web Creations, my business, is slowly moving along. And the slowness of it is my own doing. I am trying very hard to seek the Lord in all I do with my business, and so I don't want to be running ahead with plans that are not from Him. But I also know that I need to pray more and ask for His strength and confidence. I do have another website job that I will be starting this week or next and it has some new things that I haven't done before. My client wants to have music downloads that people can buy. That is a new issue for me, and something I look forward to working on. This client is a dear friend of mine, and so far I have learned a lot of my website design knowledge from working on past sites for her. I am blessed with such a friend who is a client that I can learn from.

I am also praying about taking an online class over the summer. Not sure if we have the finances for it, but I know if the Lord wants me to take a class, He will provide. Plus there might be a house buying adventure in our future, so I don't want to pile on to many things for me. We'll finish up our lessons at home with the kids, and then see what the summer time brings.

I have done a major upgrade to my site, Watered Garden Web Creations, and I've changed the colors, layout and just had some fun with it. Stop by and see how it looks. And if you get a chance, leave me a comment here and tell me what you think. Thanks for stopping by.
